Eddie is a postgraduate research student at the University of Exeter. His research focuses on the People’s Republic of China’s intellectual property law and freedom of expression. He started his career as a journalist in the 1990s. Over the past two decades he has performed various editorial functions, including reporting and editing, for several Chinese-language and English-language media outlets in his home city Hong Kong and the United States. He studied journalism at the Hong Kong Baptist College and read human rights law at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, before obtaining a postgraduate diploma in economics from the University of London.
